Success

Published January 25th, 2019 by Ccwestside

“So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation. Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”
Daniel 2:16-19

When you first read these verses, you may not come away with anything, or at least with some confusion. But this is full of Jesus.
The king wanted his dream interpreted, and refused to tell anyone what the dream was; if they can interpret it, they must already know what it is! When the sorcerers and magicians said that no man could ever do that, the king did not take it lightly and proceeded to execute all the wise men. But there was one wise man that looked not to magic, but to God. Daniel needed to be successful with this interpretation, you know, to stay alive!
Success can take many forms. Success is in the career you worked hard to achieve. Success is having your child understand a concept. Success is getting the laundry done for today! There is no right or wrong answer, nor is one success inferior to another. Success is different to everyone, and to Daniel on this particular day, it was staying alive.
Now our situations may not be as pressing as Daniel’s, but we can take away his attitude. He did not worry about the future or how he would reach success, but he knew that the Lord would lead him there. Some successes can feel way too far in the distance, that we are never going to achieve that goal. If it is in the Lord’s plan, He will always lead you there. Take your successes day by day. Daniel was not afraid to ask for more time to work on the king’s interpretation, because he knew that this success was going to take bravery, patience, and prayer.
At the end of this, he praised God for being faithful, as He always is. The Lord is there to help you reach your successes for today, tomorrow, and forever.
