Just Pray!

Published April 13th, 2018 by Ccwestside

I was driving one day and if you are anything like me, you have random thoughts that pop into your head that you’re not quite sure where they came from.
I used to ignore them, not thinking much of them.
But our God is not a God of waste.
I have learned that when a situation or person or a thought pops in, you pray!
I have found that many of times it is the Lord using you as an intercessor for that person or situation.

So many times we think that there is no way God can use us.
“Im not good at anything or that our prayer won’t make a difference”.
Pray!
What greater way can you honor God, then to pray to the Lord on someone else’s behalf.
To see the power of prayer move and work in someones life.
We should feel privileged that the Lord allows us to see the works He does in others lives.

When I lack in my prayer life I feel it! Have you ever said to someone,  “I’ll pray for you” after you have spoken with them, and then you forget.
Life becomes busy or sometimes if we are honest, we just don’t feel like it.
Wait, because the conviction will come.
Say let’s pray instead of I’ll pray for you.
Prayer is never a waste!

Philippians 2:3-4 says,
“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”

When we pray,  God pours grace into our lives to be able to accept the outcome of another person’s choice to walk away from God. He encourages us when we pray for those we may be grieved by, He is pleased when we pray for others before ourselves.

We may not fully understand what a person is going through, but as we pray for them continually, we learn to put ourselves in their shoes and empathize with them. We move from a self-centered focus to a love for God and people.

We need to pray like Jesus prayed!

"Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16
