"Where You go, I will go"

Published March 16th, 2018 by Ccwestside

The Lord has me reading the book of Ruth this week. It is one of my favorite books in the Bible. It is such a beautiful story of redemption! God has such a wonderful way of reaching into the lives of His people to save them from hardships in this life.

I have always admired Ruth for her faith and trust in God. Ruth came to know God through the example of her mother in law, Naomi. After Naomi's husband and sons died, Naomi decided to go back to her hometown of Bethlehem. She told her two daughter in laws to go back to their mother' house. Orpah listened to Naomi and went back home. Ruth however clave to Naomi and would not leave her. I love the words Ruth spoke to Naomi: Ruth 1:16-17a

"In treat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you. For wherever you go, I will go. And wherever you lodge, I will lodge. Your people will be my people. And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die."

These words that Ruth spoke are such a powerful example of love and loyalty! Ruth was determined to follow Naomi, and God, no matter what the future held! Ruth's words today can be a prayer in our heart to the one who holds our future, Jesus!

Lord Help me not to leave you! Jesus, I want to daily follow after You, wherever You go I need Your direction to stay on the path and go with You. Jesus, help me to keep my eyes on my real home, in heaven. Please remind me this is not my home. Thank you for bringing me into the family of God. You have surrounded me with wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ, Your Father is now my Father. Help me to continue to die to myself daily, so that I can live to please You! Amen

I pray these words of Ruth, you will use to speak to Jesus from your heart. To show Him your love and loyalty, today and always!
